"Ne, you and Hayato are brothers?" I asked Yuto. It took him sometime before he replied a 'Yeah'. "You two don't seem on good terms, if you don't mind... may I ask what happened between you two?" I asked, hoping he would say yes. "Why are you so interested?" He look at me with a confused face. I look down at my bento and quietly said, "I'm just curious..." while playing with my chopsticks. Even though I said it quietly, it was loud enough for Yuto to hear.
"Fine, I'll tell you." he said. 'Victory is mine.' I thought while smirking to myself. When I looked up at him questionly, he started his story. After hearing his story, I feel abit bad for him. "I mean... It's not really your fault that Tsuki slipped and fell... And it's not you fault if you didn't managed to catch hold of her properly..." I said trying to comfort him. "It's because of Tsuki's death that made him hate me." he said while sighing.
"Sorry for making you so upset..." I said feeling a apologetic. "It's okay." he said while patting my back. "Uhm, just one more question is that okay?" I asked feeling abit uneasy. "Sure, what is it?" he said. I took at deep breath, before slowly saying my question. "How...are you and... Miko related?" Silence. Yuto didn't reply, he just stared at what was in front of him. Which is air. I waved my hands in front of him. "Hello?" I said. "Oh! I'm sorry. Anyway you wanted to know how I'm related to Miko right? Uhm... Miko is my ex." Yuto said.
My lips parted and I stared at him blankly. Now it's Yuto's turn to wave his hands in front of me saying "hello". I snapped out from my daze and got back to reality. "Then... do you still have feelings for her?" I asked a bit worried. 'Wait, why am I worried?' "Nope and why do you have so many questions to ask me?" Yuto asked curiously. I gave a sheepish smile and said "Gomen."

"Ne, Hayato... You still love Tsuki don't you?" Miko said. It's been awhile since they have gotten together. They shared what happened in their past, and that's how Miko got to know about Tsuki. At the same time, Hayato got to know about Miko's ex, his own brother. Looking at the ring Hayato is wearing aches Miko's heart. "Neither have you gotten over Yuto right? Still wearing his ring." Hayato replied. "I'm trying my best to move on Hayato. I really love you." Miko said softly. Hayato then stood up and held both of Miko's hands and said, "If you're trying your best, then I will try too. I'm sure that one day we will get over them." he said sweetly while staring into the eyes of Miko. "Un."

"Thanks for sending me home Yuto." I smiled at him. "Wow, it's rare to see you smile, keep that smile on your face everyday ne?" he said smiling sweetly at me. Again, I felt my face burning up. "Ja, see you tomorrow rabbit girl~" he said while winking, and he drove off. "Luckily, he went off. If not he will be able to see my cheeks which are getting scarlet red by the second." I said to myself. I opened my apartment door and off went the party poppers. I was shocked at first, but when I on the lights, I came face to face with my mom, dad and my beloved brother. "Surprise ~ " all three of them shouted. "Mom, Dad, Nii-chan!"I said as I rushed to hug them.
"We came to see you and we're deciding to live here with you, dear." My mom said to me. "Yep! I finally know how to speak Japanese." said my brother. "Kurosaki Ryosuke, you sure you know how speak japanese?" I said while eyeing on him. "Of course!" he said confidently. "Then I'm glad ne~" I said while hugging him tightly. "How's school, Reiko?" My dad asked me. "Fine." I replied. "You know, all three of us saw the news about you dating the popstar." My dad said while using his elbow to nudge me and everyone started grinning.
"Mom, Dad, Nii-chan don't get the wrong idea okay?" I said hoping they would stop their grinning. "What wrong idea? It's all okay with us." My mom said. 'Oh bother.' "Let's dig in to the food that I just cooked." my mom exclaimed. "Okay! We're starving!" my brother and dad said in chorus. Seeing them right in front of me, so happy, I can't help but to smile as well.

"Hey, Reiko." I heard someone calling me. I turned and gasped. It was Miko. It has been days since I talked to her. "Miko! You finally talked to me." I said sighing a relieve. "Sorry, but I found new friends." she said as another two girls appeared behind her. "That means you're not my friend anymore?" Disappointment must be showed over my face. "Yeah, and don't be disappointed. You got your prince charming anyway." she said sarcastically.
"Anyway, I'm here to tell you something." she continued. "What thing?" Miko scoffed, "What else could it be? it's about the school Sack Race this year. I tell you, make sure that Yuto participates in this. Or else..." she faded. "Or else what?" I tried to sound as calm as possible. "Or else your next few years will be hellish days with us." she smirked. "Good luck, rabbit girl." It was sarcastic. "Oh yeah, one more thing. I hope you're not last this year again." she said and then laughing out loud after that.

Later in the afternoon, I ended up in the field, practicing for the Sack race. Guess what? The three disturbers are back again. I groaned as I saw their faces. Without words, I approached them. "What do you want now, Miko and two followers of Miko." I said smirking. Her two friends gasped and retorted, "We have names okay. And we're not followers, we're just best of friends." Both of them shouted at me. Man, their voices are high. "Practicing, rabbit girl?" she asked and flicked my head. 'What has become of Miko?' "Yeah, you bet." I replied. "What if you're last again huh?"
I thought about that for awhile, and I remembered Yuto talking to his brother about competing with himself only. So I used that example. "Doesn't matter, as long as I reach the finishing line." I said confidently. "How can it not matter to you girl? Did you eat something wrong today?" Miko touched my forehead. I swat away her hands, "No, and it doesn't matter because I only compete with myself." The three girls stared at me in confusion.
"You see, everyone's enemy is themselves. If you are able to finish that race, then you win. If you are not able to finish that race, then you lose. So it doesn't really matter if you come first or not." I said, proudly. "We'll see on that day itself then. Ja." With that, they walked away and I continued to practice.
Not far from them stood a smiling Yuto. I saw Yuto coming towards me and I shouted, "Bamboo~!" and I ran towards him. "What is it rabbit girl?" he said as he ruffled my hair. "Yuto, I want you to join the Sack race tomorrow." Yuto looked at me, then he answered, "Yada." and walked away. I looked at him in disbelief and asked "Why???" He suddenly stopped and that made me stop in my tracks. He turned around and said, "It's too lame."
"How can you say it's lame? It's Momo High Event and all Momo High students have to attend." I said, trying to convince him. "Stop butting in to my affairs okay? Remember this, we are not even related in anyway. So I decide whether I want to go or not. Not YOU" he emphasized the 'you'. I stared at him, all sorts of emotions were in me. Disbelief, anger, sadness and many more others I couldn't explain. I wanted to retort, but.. I don't know what to say. Before I even had the chance to speak, he walked away. "You selfish bamboo! You only will look for help from people when you need to. But when others need your help you always don't want to help out!" I said angrily and I stormed away in anger.

"Ha, that girl wouldn't be able to make Yuto come. I know him too well." Miko said. "We should be thinking some gothic styles for her if she fails to convince Yuto." her friend, Mizuko commented. "Okay, let's stop talking about this." They then stood up and left.

The day of the Sack Race arrived. Only nii-chan came to cheer me on as my dad and mom had to go to work. While talking to my brother, I kept saying I was fine, I wasn't nervous. But actually, I am, about Yuto. What if he doesn't come? I will have to be in hell until I graduate. Thinking about those three faces, gives me shiver down my spine. 'Yuto, please come...' I begged silently in my mind.
"What I am holding now is the number tag of Nakajima Yuto. The race is about to begin but he's nowhere to be found. Will he come and participate? Or will he just walk awa ---" the reporter was cut with Yuto taking the number tag away from him. I was so shocked to see Yuto here. I felt my mouth curving up into a smile, as I approached him. "Hey. I thought you say you wouldn't want to participate in this lame event." I said, gently beating his arm. "Who cares about that? As long as I'm here." he smiled warmly.
I stared at him confusely. "What do you mean by that?" I shouted as he was walking towards the back, ignoring my question. "How can you get first place if your starting from the back you baka bamboo!!" I screamed. "Now, students, when you hop, there will be a entry point where it will record your timing of how long you take. Make sure you jump pass it, or else your timing won't be recorded and you will be last. Got it? One more thing, the last person will have to do a penalty." announced the principal. As a response, everyone nodded their head. Silence followed as all the students waited for the gun to fire. Seconds passed... Minutes passed... Why hasn't the gun fired? I turned to look, I realise the person firing the gun was sleeping.
Soon everyone realized and shouted at him, "CAN YOU FIRE THE GUN ALREADY?" A loud roar was shoved to his face. He woke with a start, and he flushed. Seconds later, he fired the gun and the race started. I started hopping, I feel retarded doing it though. I head my nii-chan encouraging me, "GAMBATTE REI-CHAN~" I smiled when I heard that. I'm so glad that I have a caring brother.
Soon Yuto caught up to the front, even though he started from the back. Hayato and Yuto was taking the lead. 'As expected from brothers' Fatigue overcame people, as I was trying my best to hop forward. After passing a few people, I saw Yuto, and shouted to my fullest, "Yuto, Gambatte!" I think he heard me, that's why he started to jump forward quickly. I don't know if is because of my luck or something else, cause after a few jumps I fell to the floor, with my face flat on the stupid concrete floor.
"Itaii!" Yuto stopped in his tracks and turned around, just to be meeted by the sight of Reiko lying on the floor. Yuto sighed, and walked towards me. I looked up to him, "Why did you come back?" I asked while getting up. "Aren't you gonna hop towards the finishing line?" he asked. "Why do you care?" Yuto kept quiet as he watched me slowly hop. "Let's hop to the finishing line together okay?" he said. "You crazy?! You want to be last??" I asked exaggeratedly. "Doesn't matter, as long as we reach the finishing line. Does that sound familiar to you?" He asked trying to hop at the same pace as me. Those words were what I said yesterday to Miko. "Okay, let's hop towards the finishing line." he said, getting perked up. "Un!"

"Ah...I'm so disappointed, I'm in last place again." I sighed. "It's okay. At least we finished the race right?" he said pulling me closer to comfort me. "True." I said. "Alright alright gather around students. Now, as we agreed earlier before the race began, that the last person will have to do a penalty. That is to, where a rabbit costume for the whole of this year." Principal announced through the microphone. 'Oh dear, I''m so gonna get laughed at.' "And the last person is... Morochi Mizuko." I was shocked.
"Eh? Yuto-kun, I thought it was us?"I asked him. He shrugged his shoulders. "The reason why she was last is because she didn't ran pass the entry point. Hence, she had no recording time. So Morochi Mizuko will be the one wearing a rabbit costume for this entire year." The principal said while grinning. The whole school then applauded. Then I turned and saw Mizuko, and I did a funny face to her. She saw what I did and ran away.
"Ne, Arigatou, Yuto-kun. For helping me back then when I fell." I said with appreciation. "Anything for my rabbit girl." he said, hugging me. I was surprised at first, but in the end my hands found its way to Yuto's back, resulting in me hugging him back.
