If you referred with that to Beethoven, I can totally agree :). I'm having his "Moonshine Sonata" on my playlist at the moment and it makes me cry everytime I hear it :).
Manly him right now, yes ^.^ but I adore Dvorak very much as well! I love sinfonic works when all the instruments seem to sing together, I get goosebumps every time ^^ Music is like Teh Most Amazing Thing Ever
Oh! Yes! When there's this big finale at the end of a synphony, when it's like a vulcano is errupting, or something like that ^^;. I need to check out Dvorak, then ;)
Do you know "The Bolero" by Maurice Ravel? (it's also the piece that plays constantly during the first Digimon OVA). I absolutely love it when it starts all soft at the beginning and then becomes louder and wilder till the end.
I must admit that right now I listenend to the Bolero for the first time ^^' It's always been my most beloved background track in Dejimon but until a while ago I didn't even know that there was an original ^^' I like it a lot!!!
My favorite of Dvorak are his Slavonic Dances but Sinfony from The New World is really great, too! Edward Elgar's Pomp and Circumstances is one of my favorites as well (perhaps only because I loved! playing it so much *g*)
I don't know if you watch Dorama but there is a recent one "Nodame Cantabile" about a pianist who actually wants to be a conductor and gets to conduct an orchestra! they play Beethoven's 7th (what a coincidence ^.~) and, OMG, the main actor is hot and doing a great job and it*s orchestra and piano and I love it! Unfortunately it's only subbed to the 3rd episode right now (I watched it raw, too much love XDD) but perhaps you might like it ^^
