O_O

I just smoked my first cigarette.

My mouth tastes funny.

I do feel less tense, though. Oh man.

You feel less tense because the smoke entering your lungs caused your veins (or was it arteries? I can never remember) to contract, slowing the function of your circulatory system. Just thought you'd like to know in case you already didn't.

Oh honey >< don't start smoking ><

I mean I can't really preach or anything, since I started smoking myself, but fuck...they're really not good for you.

I love the taste of them...

ARRRRGH fuck I'm bad at stuff like this >< because part of me is going "Yeah, they're nice" and the other is going "please don't ever do it again" because of how bad they are for you. :/

*huggles either way*

along the lines of what arashi_soul said, it's actually NOT the cigarette that "calms you" but the act of smoking it. The slow, deep breaths you take as you inhale are what make you feel better, not the cigarette itself. In fact, tabacco is a stimulant--a very virulent and addictive one, but now I'm just telling you things you already know.
Again, I won't preach to you, but there are much better ways to relieve anxiety and tension that don't involve self-injurous behavior like smoking.
I hope you feel better, in any case <3
