Really, he wasn't sure why he had accepted this invitation. Granted, he wasn't sure why he made most decisions that didn't involve staying in and doing goddamn nothing, but this one especially. Eclair was interesting, sure, but also a danger in her own right. Wealthy, powerful, and admittedly unbalanced ( ... )

The first thing she noticed was the lack of the coat. The second was ‘Sacrebleu, he made it.’ She’d never admit her underlying insecurities - enough of that had gone on between the two of them. She tucked an errant strand of hair behind her ear and took a deep breath. The game started now.

Hurrying over to fall into step next to him, she murmured, “Left the coat at home? Shame, it looked so lovely too. I’ll need to buy you something nice now.” A small smile played at the corner of her lips.

He pulled a frown at the immediate greeting, waving a hand dismissively. "You ain't buyin' me a damn thing. And I left it back there 'cause it was warm." Though he sure didn't seem to care much about the long hair on his neck or fall clothing, but that was the excuse he'd go with. Still, he was happy to speak a language other than French (English or Japanese, he didn't give a shit,) after fumbling with it the past few hours.

"Thought you wanted to show me the city, not play dress up." At least there was no awkward moment, the two immediately sliding into their typical bickering. it was familiar enough to be comforting, really.

"Of course I'm buying you something. I'm showing you around Paris. It's one of the most fashionable places in the world." She smiled softly, adjusting the strap of her handbag. She continued, switching from English to Japanese. "So don't complain about it, okay? You have no choice in that part."
