Howling With Laughter, Panic, Alarm and Distress [Open-ish!]

What: Can't do summer without a trip to the beach.
When: Backdated to Sometime during the last week of summer vacation.
Where: Some beach in France, possibly near Reims

[ Meiling is all about this trip! She's dressed for action, in a green one-piece bathing suit and matching cover. Her braids are longer and thicker than usual, to keep the wet hair from sticking to her face while she swims.

You can catch her doing just about anything, from swimming, to playing with a giant beach ball, to trying her hand at volleyball -- it's nothing like soccer, though, so she's eating a lot of sand, but she's at least having an awesome time!

Oh, and eating watermelons because watermelons are freaking delicious. Share one? ]

Sure! [ And she smiles at the suggestion, reaching out for his hand to tug him along to deeper water. ] Come on!

[Laughing a little at her enthusiasm, he lets himself be pulled as they move out into the deeper water, up past their waists, switching to floating a bit more than walking]

Think you can make it to that buoy?

[parlezvousnaps]

[ Meiling pauses before the deeper water, letting him go on ahead a bit as she gathers up her long hair below the water line, rolls it up, and ties it off with a spare ribbon she kept wrapped around her wrist.

That done, she grins a bit, giving up a thumbs up! ] You bet! [ And with that, she pushes off of a sand bank and into a freestyle stroke. ]

[Grinning, he pushes off as well, swimming out towards there. At least he knows he doesn't have to go easy on her, so he'll give it his all]

[ And she pretty much never holds back, so the swift thrashing of her legs creates a trail behind her as she barrels on toward their destination. ]

[OH GEEZ, he severely underestimated her. HE'S REALLY GOING TO HAVE TO SWIM WITH ALL HIS WORTH JUST TO KEEP UP]

[ The outdoors is her element, Sakuya. He should have realized the advantage from the start! Though her endurance is another thing entirely, and she starts to slow down as the near the goal. ]

[spending most of the summer either catering to the girls or running around doing chores has at least given him the stamina advantage, so he finally starts to catch up as they approach the buoy...]

[ It's only a matter of time before the lack of swimming cap works against her, and she has to stop swimming to sputter and pull the hair out of her eyes. Thinking she was victorious, she pumps both hands into the air then, and lets out a whooping cry!

--a good ten meters from the buoy. Whoops? ]

[Sakuya slow as he passes her, worried she might be having some other problem. He starts laughing though when he sees it's just her hair]

Meiling. The buoy's over there.

Ah?

[ Head turn. ]

Ah! Oh no, off target again! [ This is why she doesn't play a forward position. Sort of. Meiling suddenly lunges and gets back to swimming, though she's not putting as much "oomph" into it now. ]

[Laughing, Sakuya starts towards the buoy as well, using what little head start he got to maybe finish before her]

[ By the time she palms the buoy and halts to catch her breath, it's already too late. ] Whew. That was fun! [ Not at all bothered by losing, she laughs. ]

[Sakuya's breathing hard too, grinning as he hangs onto the buoy with one hand]

That was pretty close...
