CHARACTERS: Trever Daly and Jennifer Walters LOCATION/SETTING: The stables DATE & TIME: Thursday at 5 pm WARNINGS: None currently... SUMMARY: Jennifer comes to the stables with her first private riding lesson with Trever.
Trever made sure that all the students were skedalled before five, so the only occupants are the horses and a few lounging barn cats.
He comes out of his office, pulling on a pair of work gloves with a black cat trailing at his feet. He looks like something from one of those old cowboy cigarette ads wearing a flannel shirt, well worn jeans and thick work boots. His hair is messy and he's a bit on the gritty side, but he's been with the animals all day so it's to be expected.
When he sees Jennifer, he smiles and calls out a greeting.
Looking up, she heard the sound of boots coming towards her and the greeting. Taking her hand from the horse's nose and feeling odd but wiping it on her pants, Jennifer stood, waiting patiently.
Wiping horse snot is one of the reasons why Trever said she should wear old clothes.
He gives her a good once over, it's completely professional. He's making sure the horse he picked out for her was a good match. "We start with the basics. I've got a horse tied up outside for you to look at. You're going to get the full experience."
Jennifer could not help but smile just a little at that, unable to resist a chance to tease him just a moment. "I do know what a horse looks like."
She headed for the door though. "The full experience is probably a good idea. I do really want to learn this. It's not something that comes up in L.A. or New York."
