Now that she was done with her routinely morning run - with, she would proudly add, a half an hour course on core exercises - Lightning was making her way back to her apartment in the Faculty building. She had breakfast, of course, before going out, but after the workout, she helped herself to a peanut butter filled bagel as she walked up the stairs.
It was a quiet morning, which was understandable. Hardly anyone would be up at this hour, especially on a weekend. Now would be a good time to double check her class schedules, list who was in her classes, check up on Serah and her classes, all the while paying Muffin some due attention ( ... )

With a shrug, Fang turned away from the door - only to spot Lightning currently frozen in place farther down the hall. She had a split second to think that luck was on her side today after all before the bagel still held in Lightning's mouth registered, and Fang grinned, saying, "That's a good look for you," before she could help herself.

"What're you doing here?" Lightning responded back as soon as she could muster up her composure. Or at least as much as she could now that Fang saw her in such a state. Her tone was neutral, but it was up to Fang how the question should be interpreted. Other than that one time, Lightning wasn't sure Fang was an early riser herself.
That, and... sheesh, she probably wasn't looking rather presentable, what with wearing striped sweat pants, a training bra, and a matching sweat jacket. Thankfully, the jacket was zipped up well before she ran into Fang.

"Also brought ya a house-warming gift. Though it's for your cat, since I didn't know what you'd like. Cats are easier to please." Technically Fang meant easier than people - cats have more universal tastes - but it seemed doubly appropriate for her standoffish owner.
