One nice thing about Reims is the fresh air. The island doesn't have the same atmosphere as Firo's home city, but the clean and fresh air is actually nice to experience.

He exits the West Quad with the intent of stretching his legs and clearing his head. After a few minutes of aimless wandering, he smells what he's pretty sure is cigarette smoke nearby. Following his nose, he eventually comes across Pyro. "Hey."

Grimace. Oh joy, his roommate. He gave an icy glare to Firo in response.

"Hi." Read: "fuck off".

Firo repeats the greeting. "Hi."

"You don't look so happy. What's up?" Firo plops down next to him, showing no sign of leaving anytime soon. One of the first things people find out about Firo is that he seems to enjoy spending time with people who are annoyed by him as much as he enjoys spending time with his friends.

Pyro curled his lip back and looked away.

"Does anything about me say 'Ask what's wrong?' No. Maybe I'm just out here smoking."

There weren't many such spots on campus and they were pretty small on average, so one would often find students loitering awkwardly around them, pretending to be checking their phones, looking at their nails, etc.

Luckily Shin was skinny enough to squeeze in with almost anyone. He looked at Pyro with a pleading smile, holding up his own cherry BlackStone.

Pyro raised an eyebrow.

"You need something, kid?"

He knew exactly what Shin wanted, but he decided (like always) to be a jackass about it.

Shin cocked his head, giving his best ingratiating look. This was designed to work on women though, so who knew how Pyro would take it.

"I was thinking I might share my cherry blackstones but if this space is full..."

Of course it was entirely possible Pyro might just grab him and steal the whole pack, but calculated risk and all that. People who bullied Shin tended to have unfortunate incidents with lonely housewives driving sturdy minivans.

Well, a fellow smoker couldn't be too annoying. He decided to be nice for once in his life.

"Take a seat," he said and tossed his lighter to Shin.
