[Feferi looked around what was to be her new home. It looked nice enough, definitely spacious and large enough for four people. She just wondered who those other four people were!

Oh well, she would meet them soon enough, and she was sure they would be friends. In the meantime it was time to unpack and get ready for class tomorrow. Then, exploring!

She hoped this place had a pool, but otherwise she'd be off the beach. Not a bad thing, really.]

It's great! Right on the beach! And there's a big navel base there, where my best friend is from.

Yeah, it's a bird. It looks kinda like a hawk, but it lives near the sea.

Heh, I was an okay swimmer. Everyone sort of learned but I prefer swimming in the ocean to the pool we had at school.

[ Meiling has a rather interesting setup. It's a bunk bed, but there is only one actual mattress high up off the floor. The rest is her combination mini-library (language students need all kinds of books, yanno) and a desk for her laptop, a second screen, and a chair.

The same chair (1) redhead is currently napping in. Someone got tuckered out reorganizing things... she is clearly visible from the open doorway to the rest of the apartment-like living quarters ]

[Feferi is in the midst of unpacking when she notices the sleeping girl in the chair. She considers for a second, then sneaks into the other girl's room.

It probably isn't a good idea to get right up next to a girl you don't know who is fast asleep, but this is exactly what Feferi does.]

[ --she couldn't have heard that right. Must still be groggy. Meiling rolls the chair out so she can stand up. She looks down at the girl and smiles. ] Nice to meet you! [ At first she bows her head, but then she sees the hand and takes it in a firm shake. ] I'm Meiling Hong, but please, call me Meiling!

Likewise! And that's great to hear.

Oh, these? [ She rubs the back of her head. ] Yeah, I do a lot of reading for my studies... [ Most of them are either French literature, French translations of popular books from other languages, or French school textbooks form previous years.

But there's also a shelf of Chinese history books, Japanese fictional works, books with dragons on the spines, and a shelf so crammed full of comics it looks like could burst!

And almost every single book has bright post-it tabs sticking out between various pages on top. ]
