this book made me depressed for about a day. i have successfully emptied out both of my tear ducts.

bare with me. i took the time rereading the whole series but quit while in the middle of the fourth one cuz then i realized i really won't have time to pull them all off and dinner at the homesick restaurant.<----- which . im on chapter 2 as of today. so. read up on sparknotes of the rest of the 4th, and the 5th book. yet i still ended up squirting some tears at the part where sirius dies. cuz its just so fucking sad.

i will try to do this by characters.

Dumbledore: i knew it! i knew it. i knew he had to die in order for jk's series to work. he was the last thing standing in between harry and voldemort. he had to die, as much as i hate jk for killing him because if he were real, he'd probably be one of the sweetest old guys around. but it was inevitable, the last remaining thing standing in between harry and voldemort. you could kinda figure that out cuz the prophecy says, "one must kill the other in order for the other to live". so that gives you an inkling of events to come in the 7th book. harry takes one voldemort alone.

i love that he keeps his manners and his cool for that matter all throughout the parts starting from harry and himself leaving for the cave to the part where they're on the astronomy tower. and him messing with the dursleys was quite amusing, althought i would have just poured their juice/brandy w/e it was on their heads cuz i hate them.

last thing about dumbledore:  im going to contradict what i said above and say that i hate that he had to die. even though i knew he had to, i haaaaaaaaaate it. he was such a loveable, sweet old man, so funny, and he loved kids so much. if he was 50 years younger i would have married him. men+children/youth= irresistable. so i cried in my bed for a solid 10 minutes. and then stopped. and then i bawled again, continuously throughout the last chapters at parts concerning remuslupinandtonks and bill(or was it charlie? god. im stupid and i don't have my book on me)andfleur.

Harry: all i have to say is that harry shouldn't put up w/ this shit. what ive noticed that jk likes to do is build up harry's relationship w/ characters (sirius and dumbledore) and then kill one of them involved in the relationship. obviously the one thats not harry. to increase the dramatic effect? i don't know but i really don't like it. she spends so much of the book building on the relationships harry has and then ends them, causing me to use up endless boxes of kleenexes. RIDICULOUS. although inevitable. i have conflicting feelings.

harry's wit has increased quite a bit. i guess that makes me like his character more.

Harry and Ginny: ILOVED IT. hes so clever and funny and so is she and they both play quidditch together and its perfect match. im also extremely glad harry didn't have to deal w/ any drama w/ ron pertaining to his relationship w/ ginny. i loved the part where they're studying together and ginny goes

"yeah, romilda vane asked me if it was true that you had a hippogriff tatooed on your chest"

and then harry goes" well what did you say" and shes "i told her that you had a norwegian ridgeback dragon (forgive me i can't remember the name of the dragon she uses) on your chest, its much more macho"         haaaa. shes so funny.

i do believe that in the 7th book, there , well okay I REALLY HOPE that there will be something there still between harry and ginny. if harry has any downtime from fighting voldemort.

snape: i didn't capitalize his name because hes an asshole and i don't think he deserves his name to be like that. anyways. i think the only thing that caused snape to kill dumbledore was the unbreakable vow. i think that, even though in the 6th book, jk gives you the impression that hes evil and is on voldemort's side, hes really just sitting on the fence post right now kinda playing with the two sides and might possssssibly play up a good role in the 7th book. i predict that jk will make some type of surprise concerning him in he 7th book. his character is way to involved now.

i thought the connection between the prince girl in the newspaper hermione finds and snape, being mother and son, is well done on jk's part.

another reason for not liking him is making harry miss the quidditch cup. BIIIIITCH.

Slughorn: eh. i think jk just threw him in here to keep her books more interesting. i love how harry has to get him drunk off his ass in order for him to cooperate. stubborn bitch. and i think crystalized pineapple sounds really gross. im not a fan of the "slug club". playing favorites is mean and i felt bad for ron cuz, well obviously, his two best friends and his sister were both part of it, but he wasn't. poor guy. oooohhh . okay forgot to mention this. i think part of the reason why slughorn is hiding and moving from house to house in the beginning is not only being scared of voldemort/anddeatheaters catching him, but being extremely ashamed of having the majority of them all in his little slug club when they attended hogwarts.

Lavender and Ron: i didn't like this. i was  glad it ends because ron and hermione are sposed to get together and DOOOOOOOO IT. ha. but no, hermione and ron are supposed to be together. jk can't keep up w/ all this sexual/romantic tension she has going between the two of them, i mean, when did jk first give you an hint of something between the two of them? like in the 3rd book maybe, maybe even the second. i can't remember, but i mean cmon. its the 7th and final book, she mine as well have them hook up and get married and whatever. itd make me happy.

Lupin and Tonks: TWO POINTS FOR JK. she scored again w/ this. i think this is great, jk reveals that tonks is sad all the time because shes so hung up and in love w/ lupin. and then they hold hands at dumbledores funeral. yayay. i hope they stay together and if jk kills one of them ill be pissed. especially lupin. o god i don't even want to think about it. i will be .. verrrrry pissed off at jk if she kills him.

Fleur and Bill ( or charlie...:-/): the end makes me cry. fleur still wants to marry him even though bill's face is pretty much destroyed. i think a bit more highly of fleur now after she does this even though i was secretly hoping they'd break up sometime in the book. but ive changed my mind. and everyones happy cuz you find out that tonks doesn't like bill. LUPIN. eeeeeeee.

George and Fred: props to jk. shes smart to make them continue w/ their jokeshop ambition and become . galleonionaires.

Malfoy: still hate him. he sounds really ugly. i wish harry really did kill him w/ that sectumspectra curse cuz hes just an asshole. i hope voldemort kills him for not following through w/ his plans.

Fenrir Greyback: as evil as a charcter that he is, i thought he was extremely interesting to read about.

Rufus Scrimgeour (?sp?): selfish prick. all he cares about is making  the ministry look good. and he wants to use harry in effort to do so.

Percy: jack ass.

EL FIN. last thoughts though

i wonder how mcgonagall will do being headmistress

im glad dumbledore will still have a portrait of himself in his office, so hes not completely dead.

ron and hermione offering to drop out of hogwarts w/ harry to help him makes me happy. a somewhat sorta happy ending to the book.

my prediction for 7th book: HARRYS GONNA KICK VOLDEMORTS NASTY ASS!!! someone will die of course and it better not be ron or hermione. if jk does that shes a bitch herself. but im hoping that harry will beat voldemort and live happily ever after w/ ginny and ron and hermione will get together and everything will be bliss.  yay. odds are jk won't do that though. whatev. DON'T READ THIS DOWN HURR. this is what i think might happen in the 7th book and i have a hunch that im right. and i don't want to ruin it for people who don't want to know in conclusion. well my last prediction. i believe that the whole issue w/ snape killing dumbledore may have been a set up? throughout the story dumbledore is relentless in trusting snape.as well is lupin. he seemed very straightforward when he was telling harry about trusting snape. i honestly do believe that we'll find out that snape is working for the order. he's just spying on voldemort. snape found out that malfoy was ordered to kill dumbledore, told the order, and then perhaps intervened w/ malfoys plan and killed dumbledore himself (saving malfoy from becoming a fullfledged death eater) all on dumbledores orders. which makes me love/miss dumbledore even more. hes so noble. anyways. i think snape is moseyingaround and spying on voldemort but is really working for the order

GO HARRY! woot woot
