I took a chance......
On the Studio Ghibli release of Ursula k Le Guin's earthsea quartet(formerly trilogy, you know how it is)....Tales from Earthsea (Gedo Senki)...
Um.
....Um.....
*vomits a little in his mouth*
It's watchable if you don't know anything about the books, admittedly I only recall reading the first but seemed to know the other parts they mashed in to the mix.
Basically they took lots of elements of all the books, mashed them together, took out all the pacing, all the urgency, all the malice of Cob for example and went for Generic Fantasy. They would have done better I think to just go for A Wizard of Earthsea and do it better.
This kinda flies in the face of how psychological issues were for characters in the books with Depression and the self destructive urge for eternal life trivialised and seemingly out of context with the rest of the movie.
Then again I don't recall any howls from the Ursula Camp (I may just not have noticed) so perhaps I'm being over harsh!
