Pain is easy to write. In pain, we're all drably individual. But what can one write about happiness?

I am happy, and that is the point! how does one write about happiness? how can I convey it strongly enough to match my feelings? and, without veering into solipsism? for I am blissfully ( Read more... )

haha. yes, why not? but happiness can be a very selfish concept too.

it is more like, no matter how I try, and even a novelist such as greene concedes, happiness just is not easy to write. that is happiness for you.

bearing in mind that these words were written by a man who didn't shy away from experiencing gratification and seemed to have a good sense of humour.
