A couple of months ago I changed my cellphone plan to save me some money and sprint assured me I would not incur a $150 cancellation fee to do it

This isn't going to be helpful, just a "me too" post:
That's almost exactly the amount of money Sprint cost me a few years ago with deceptive information about the cost of overseas calls on one of their plans. I swore I'd never use them again.
Nope. Basically they were like "oh we're crediting you back that fee we just hadn't yet"
Basically creating a late fee I would have to pay even if I didn't have to pay the $150, so I screamed at them and they credited it back right away and that was that.
Sprint sucks. They have improved a bit in that they no longer seem to employ backward-assed know nothings to man the telephones, but unfortunately, they just sound better. Depending on the screw-up, they used to be authorized to take up to 40 bucks off your phone bill depending onthe level of inconvenience. When Jeff got fed up and told them to cancel his service, they gave him one month free as a bribe to stay. He took the free month and switched.
a friend of my boyfriend was doing an internship at a lawfirm who was handling complaint and court cases against cell phone companys, and all the sketcy things cell phone companies do. sprint is definately the worst. my suggestion, change to another provider, almost ANY other provider (though the major cell phone company with the least number of major complainst was verizon) at any time
