It is so cruel the way so many mothers tear into their own daughters about how they look. Fat is a feminist issue, and it's one of the ones entrenched society that has women using to bring down each other instead of boosting each other up

Also, beyond subject matter, your forthright and clear statements on mothers has done a world of good for me this morning. The degree to which I needed to read something powerful like that right now was not clear to me until I did so. You can reiterate truths to yourself, but seeing them come so elegantly out of another's mouth is a whole other level of healing.
Old ghosts have been stirring, but you just happened to Egon the bejeezus out of them right there.
