Name: Enno
Contact: ZerstoererWolfP1
Character's Name: Sync the Tempest
Character's Age: 15(? At least very close to.)
Character's Class: Well, take your pick, Fighter, or Mage?

3 Events That Affected the Character:

1• The Score, the young Fon Master, and Fomicry: Ion was a very young boy appointed to the role of Fon Master. His skill with Daathic Artes was indeed profound, as well as his ability to read the Score for the populace of Auldrant. However, early on, the young boy discovered something was decidedly skewed with the world as everyone knew it.

The Score.

Everyone followed it religiously, this he knew, as he was essentially the Spiritual Leader of the Theocratic Society of the planet, the one neutral country that held much authority over the warring kingdoms of Kimlasca and Malkuth. However, the Order of Lorelei had a dark secret. The Closed Score as it was referred to, was something that only a handful of individuals even knew of, let alone knew the specific contents of. Ion was introduced to it in a very specific way, when he was little he was asked to read parts of it, and he finally arrived at the part they'd wanted him to see; "The Fon Master will die at age 12." Rather cruelly, Ion learned of his death. A person's Death Score is usually intentionally omitted, to keep the person happy and not anxious or fearful over their fate. Ion had not only learned of his own death, but rather that everyone was perfectly fine with it, because it was foretold to happen in the Score.

While Van Grants would have likely been able to start his plans anyway, he perhaps found his most important piece of his plan in Ion. Disgusted that they would so easily allow his life to be cast aside; Ion decided the world and all of it's inhabitants were useless trash that needed thrown away. The thought of taking the Score they were so dependent on and shattering it before leaving them to their panicked fate gave the boy a twisted pleasure. However, Ion knew he was infact dying. Thus the plan that would help discreetly push the world off the path chosen and allow the man to veer Fate into his ambitious hands was concocted. Fomicry.

This is important, as it was a great part of shaping his personality as mere moments after his creation, Sync was informed he was worthless. His physical abilities were beyond that of his source, but while he could use some Daathic Artes; the Score would forever remain closed to him as he lacked the ability to read it. He was told he, the Fifth was nothing more than trash to be tossed away while the Seventh was allowed that hallowed spot and that pampered life. While the original plan had been to merely store them at Mt. Zaleho as they would disappear when they died, and forever hide the secret; the "caretakers" decided on a much more direction fashion. Cruelly they threw the Replicas into the volcano, where Sync narrowly escaped by pretending to have been thrown in and hiding behind a rock. He was found by Van and named for the phrase Van had said and the Fifth kept repeating, "The Synchro Ratio is the problem." Thus, like his Original, and infact all of his Replicas, Sync inherited a dislike of the Score. In his case he utterly hated it and felt like his Original the world needed to be destroyed as a personal vendetta.

2• Core; The depths of secrecy: In the core of Auldrant Luke fon Fabre and his friends met with the God-General after several visits of an antagonizing nature with the boy. Here, the culmination of their plan to save Auldrant from destroying itself colliaded with Van's ambitious dream. As the group suffered watching so many die to save the world, they though they'd miraculously descended into the core without problem and were readying to leave when they heard an answer they'd been dreading in response to the question of what had happened to the Fonic Glyph that was supposed to lift them to freedom, "I erased it for you."

With his cheerfully toned answer, they quickly flew into the battle. Despite their better number's the group was having a hard time with the God-General until finally they overpowered him and in a lucky strike, they knocked away Sync's mask. As it fell to the ground they were met with a very startling discovery; Sync was a Replica of Fon Master Ion. Not only that, but the Ion traveling with them was also a Replica, and the real Ion had died two years ago. The group hesitated, feeling some sympathy as Sync's plight was unfolded before them. Seven Replicas were made, and the Seventh among them was chosen while the rest were considered trash.

Thus Sync's view on his life, "A Replica that can't serve as a replacement is nothing more than garbage." When Luke tried defending Sync's existence, he again dismissed it as useless words. When the Seventh tried beseeching Sync one more time, again he dismissed the offer to join their ranks, an offer which no one in Luke's group objected to. Stating that he's only still alive because he's useful, he decided his usefulness had run out, and he backed off the Tartarus, falling into the core as a few tried to run to save the boy. The Seventh Ion then learned of sadness and tears, feeling like he'd lost a brother. From here the group was visited by Lorelei, and recieved an important message...

This is important because it causes sympathy for the character, and the first details of Sync and Ion's history in-game. It shows Sync in a decided tragic light and while it hardly forgives his actions it allows others to see the reasoning behind them, and seeing such a terrible Fate meted out, an attempt to help him redeem himself is offered. Sadly, this knowledge of what Van and Mohs did only served to raise still more questions about information they did not have. More importantly, it also shows the lack of faith in himself Sync has, as he will not allow himself to hope that there is another path for him to walk.

3• The wind whispers on: Eldrant, the Glorious Land, the final base of the One Who Would Seize Glory. After trying to crash the Replica land into their group, Luke and his friends made it on the seemingly impenetrable stronghold. Fighting their way through Van's forces, they encountered the only other living God-General besides Dist; Sync the Tempest. Having laid a fonic trap, he had almost caught them due to Natalia's weakness in character. Sadly, her grieving for Asch did not remove the group, and knowing the secret the Key of Lorelei gave them, the boy decided they were a tremendous threat to Van, and decided to wipe them out himself.

Again, they beseeched the Replica to join them. They only sparked his anger and jealousy, and in his bitter moment called his fellow Replica a naive child. While the Seventh believed the Score was just one possible future out of many choices, he failed to assert himself and failed to oppose the Score. As the conversation continued, they hit upon why Sync hated the Score so, his being thrown away, because he was born and couldn't be a substitute. Again he scorned the Score for his existence, and claimed he was empty, having gained nothing.

As they rushed to attack, the God-General warned them of his power, and challenged them, to see which the world wanted to survive. All through the fight, they pushed at him, trying to break his stubborn stance and perhaps join them, or at least lower his fists, and until the end, when he knelt there before them, struggling for his final breaths as he underwent rapid fonon separation, pleading for Van to destroy Lorelei.

This is important, because it shows not necessarily how resolved Sync actually is, but how strongly he'll cling to what he'd like others to perceive as his truth, as he thought Luke and the others were patronizing him by trying to convince him of a second chance, a life that wasn't ruled by the Planet's Memory, and wasn't ruled by his status as a Replica that didn't replace his original.

Pulled From: After his second death on Eldrant.

Personality: Sync is a nihilist. He believes life has no meaning, as that was specifically what he was told, and what he has learned as his personal truth about himself. As he believes his life has no meaning or worth whatsoever, he has no loyalty to anyone or any concept save himself; his association with Van is because they share a goal, and even if Van managed to obtain his cherished dream, Sync would likely drift away as he'd no longer had a purpose to stay by the man. As befitting of a God-General, the boy tries to manage a controlled, emotionless exterior, but Replica or no, he is still a 14 year old boy, and has his impulsive bursts of emotion occasionally. Due to his experiences and status as a Replica, he does not know love, joy, or happiness, having only experienced the emotions of hate, despair, and sadness, which has molded a rather cruel personality, and while he is susceptible to learning more emotions, he tends to pull away from others so only a very persistent person would managed to teach him. While many might say living is a blessing, for Sync it's only a torture as all he can do is watch from afar the life he was supposed to lead as a Replica, and like all Replicas with no purpose in life, he feels very confused and lost; self-loathing. His only goals in life are to serve Van until the man lets him finally die, and destroy the Score as it is responsible for his failed existence. While he does not hate other people to the extent of the Original Ion, he hardly retains the gentle optimism of the Seventh, believing like the rest of the God-Generals that those who follow the Score so blindly are fools that need either destroyed or freed from the chains of it. Perhaps one of the better portrayals of a nihilist in some time, Sync only works to destroy when he works toward anything, and his ability to use the Curse Slot even allows him to undermine relationships between other people, so one can guess he is something of a sadist as he enjoys other's pain, but at the same time finds it pointless as it doesn't change Fate for himself.

Future Plans: None, we'll see what CR develops, as that will undoubtedly cause a noticeable change to his personality, no matter how small.
