As my teacher says; someone can spout words of wisdom at you all they want, but you eventually have to do the work. You're going to teach yourself, and you can either come in so prepared that your teacher can't help but give you new information or they become your externalized conscience. You CAN do this; maybe it's partially about being tired of the constant struggle, maybe it's being a little scared at the next step (as I recall, you realized that you weren't ready to leave Syracuse the last time.... are you more ready now?). Either take the plunge or don't, but don't do set yourself up for an automatic failure without making sure that you don't really want to do it.
