I think you made an excellent Jallak. Why Jallak?

If I recall correctly it was random letters typed on a keyboard while trying to think of a character name for a MUD or something when I was like nine or ten and had discovered you could play games with other people on the computer using a thing that connects to the telephone.

Dancing lights is a shiny, versatile, yet absolutely useless spell in AD&D which all of a female-dominant sort of chaotic evil gothy elf can do innately. When baxil got really bored one day and listed out some common D&D spell names which were already taken as LJ handles, I noticed it wasn't taken.

Also I spin poi / glowsticks.

Also I dance.

Also I was a lighting tech.

Also I am endlessly fascinated by the Northern Lights.

Also I am an obsessive photographer with a penchant for lights and spinny things and fire dancers and the like.

Also I try very hard to use names and tags with a wide variety of relevant meanings and applications, as if to identify something by where these ideas intersect, rather than by a single idea.

But mostly it is a lesser-known D&D spell that wasn't taken, and I am proud to be this much of a dork.

predikit March 15 2007, 19:58:58 UTC
Predikit comes from my pen name, Krystalline Predikit McKinney, which I plan to use when publishing my novels. Krystalline McKinney is a sort of past-life name I cling to as a way to ground myself to the here and now, while still remembering that I'm crazy in the head and have pasts I can't even begin to focus on. Predikit, believe it or not, was a play on the word predicate, where I was talking to my now ex-wife late at night and mentioned how great of a word it was, if it only was spelled more interesting. Predicate turned into Predikit after about ten minutes of babbling, and Predikit turned into Prey, which you know me by. ^_^ And that's where Predikit comes from.

Jimzle is a nick name my mom called me when I was little. I like it and use it online.

My friends from another HS were in the "scene" and had LJs, so I decided to make one too, so I chose a screenname that was a tongue-in-cheek "emo" phrase, and of course add x's to make it even more hardcore.
