On one hand, iPad sounds ridiculous, but iSlate sounds like something you do only work on (or school stuff) and that's definitely not what they were going for. The naming bothered me for a while, but I realized there was a parallel (a recent one even).

We all got over the Wii's name didn't we? I thought it was the stupidest name ever for a month and now I don't think of that connotation at all. The device owns the name now. I expect that's going to happen for the iPad as well.
