After a moment, Anna came tumbling out of one of the TARDISes, her face lit up like the sun.
"Is it only mine?" she cried excitedly. She felt silly, calling the TARDIS hers--but the Doctor it belonged to had disappeared, along with his Sarah Jane and his Harry, leaving her alone with it. She supposed it might as well belong to her now. She still had her room in it. And it had sat quietly for so long, but now it seemed to be humming again, and Anna had gone tearing out to see if the others were too.
Gwen raised her eyebrows, slightly startled as another woman broke the silence and bounded out of a TARDIS.
A murmur of excitement had seemed to sweep over the yard, and Gwen suspected there were many people caught off guard by the sudden revival. Gwen approached the other woman cautiously, and cleared her throat.
"It's seems they've all come on," Gwen offered in reply to the woman's excited cry.
"That's wonderful!--oh, Gwen!" Anna replied happily, bounding up to her in a blur of frizzy brown hair. "Did I know you were here? Oh, never mind, it's so good to see a familiar face!"
Gwen examined the girl, flushing a little, and wondering if she was supposed to remember her. As she got closer, Gwen realised she looked very young - more of a kid, really - but even the obvious frizzy halo around her head wasn't ringing any bells.
Jack-not-Harkness had been standing in the shadows on Sarah Jane's back porch--he was something of an insomniac, these days. He had his hands stuffed in his trouser pockets and was taking in the cold, clear air with something of a tremor in his heart. It reminded him of--another time. Another life, his old life, and things he didn't like to remember but couldn't help remembering anyway. The silent, dark shapes of the TARDISes made him think of icebergs. The only problem with that analogy, in this case, was that he could see them.
Then the lights on one blinked to life, and then another, until they were all lit up and he wasn't reminded of icebergs anymore.
She looked towards the porch of the house, catching a glimpse of a man lost in the shadows. She squinted to see if she could make out his form, but even the light from the TARDISes didn't help.
She marched up to the porch, and waved at him to catch his attention. "Oi, you! You have any idea what's going on?"
Despite having traveled in time and space and thus been introduced to many cultures vastly different from his own, bold women still tended to strike Jack as rather... alien.
"I expect they are... reactivating, miss?" he nearly stammered.
Gwen made her way up to the porch, throwing a friendly smile at the man. His response put her off a bit, it has almost seemed timid.
"They haven't been working then?" She put her hands on her hips. "Sorry, I've just got here and I'm trying to get some information about what's happened." She thought a second, deciding maybe a polite introduction may be in order. "I'm Gwen."
