i got contacted by cosmopolitan to get paid for my photo they're using for the may issue, heeeeeeeeeeeey :D

AND my former advisor asked me if i would be willing to consider an unpaid (boo) internship (YAY!) with the durham herald-sun for the summer!

It's one I posted last fall, of two girls in a hospital room holding hands in their beds. They had been friends since they were five and were living together in Chapel Hill in an apartment which caught fire. They lived on the third floor and could only escape by jumping from their balcony, with their cats in their arms ( :( ). When they landed they both broke both of their legs and one of the girls had spinal injuries. Kristen, the latter of the two, went home to Ohio to convalesce so I was unable to continue the story, but a writer for Cosmopolitan called me a month ago and told me they were doing an article about them and wanted to use my photo.
