a possibly premature eulogy for a 501(c)

In 2009, I started volunteering with an organization called Radio Information Service. It's been around since 1976; it started tiny, got huge, gotten smaller again, and now, well. We just shut our doors, possibly for the final time; we've danced on the brink before, but it looks like this is really it.

The Carnegie Science Center has a radio station. If they are looking for another location to provide the service, it might be worth talking to them.

That does sound very awesome.

Also, I miss you guys. We should try to hang out soon.

Our local PBS radio station has a similar program: http://www.wfyi.org/irishome.asp

Maybe you can check with yours? Also, you might check your library for a possible chance to start up something, or your State agency that assists Blind and Visually Impaired.

It's an awesome concept, thanks for helping so many people! <3
