Guess they felt the need to even it out, unfortunately I can understand the reasoning behind Dean killing Kevin's mom, I don't think I'll ever understand the reasoning for Sam not looking for his brother. I've even tried the reasoning that Sam told himself if he didn't know for sure his brother was dead he could pretend he was out there somewhere, but that one doesn't do it for me either, makes it sound like a cop-out.
See and I'm the exact opposite. Dean just spent a year in Purgatory doing what he had to do whether he liked it or not, although by the end I'm sure he'd gotten blood thirsty. He rewards loyalty which is what he did for Benny, it's what he's always done. I think it's the only way he knows, for someone to be loyal to him is a form of love and he's always been looking for that.
Sam just fucked off, didn't try anything. He didn't research, he didn't keep his phones in case Dean was alive he said fuck you and just hung it up. He knew summoning spells he could have used. He had Bobby's and the Campbell books he could have used. It may not have gotten him anywhere but at least he would have tried. The lack of giving a shit is what burns me.

Sam, on the other hand, saw love differently (more conventionally?), which is where a lot of the angst comes from.

What's next?" The only thing I keep thinking is that Sam didn't have a starting point to start researching - I really hope that's

Oh absolutely. I just wrote a post complaining about the anvils they're throwing at us. We get it--they've CHANGED in the time they've been apart! I just hope we're getting this stuff now and that the bonding will start again real soon.
Despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, I have a hard time swallowing that Sam didn't look for Dean. And the fact that he pulled the reverse exorcism, something Dean didn't know he could do, speaks to the fact that the entire year wasn't spent playing house. So does Amelia opening her eyes and watching him go - as if he'd done that many times before. How, exactly, did he know to go to Rufus' cabin just then, anyway? Did he know Dean got out? Is he pretending to not know stuff, and why?
The Purgatory PTSD stuff, eh. I don't know what they're going for, but I have this uneasy feeling Dean is now killing because he likes to.
How, exactly, did he know to go to Rufus' cabin just then, anyway? OK, I thought I must have missed something there, too. I mean, Sam goes to the cabin and finds Dean and is surprised that he is there and alive. So, why did Sam go? We know he hasn't been checking phone messages. What's up?
And the fact that he pulled the reverse exorcism Good point. Yeah, it was a cool idea, the reverse exorcism, but what was the point? Yes, it meant Sam killed the demon before it went to rat them out to Crowley. But, it also meant that Sam killed Mrs Tran's friend. And the way he was so nonchalant about it... Oh, I just said the words backwards. Yeah, cool, but why would you even think to do that? What *has* been going on with Sam?!?
I have this uneasy feeling Dean is now killing because he likes to.Well, it kind of expands on Dean getting a taste for torture after Hell, doesn't it? Also, calling the killing "pure" just makes me think of early seasons where Dean saw hunting as black and white, and Sam tried to tell him that not all monsters were
