OH WOW THAT IS COOL BB!! Thanks for sharing. I need to find this vibrance dealio. I wonder if I have it on PSE... also mask layers IDK what they are either. I do use screen/soft light on my duplicate layers though. I probably learned that from you. heheh <33333
You should do more tutorials cause I'd totes read yours. :)
I'm not sure if vibrance is something you can use in PSE, probably not though, unfortch. As for layer masking, I'm pretty sure you can emulate that in PSE here's a tutorial. Really though you need to d/l PS. There's a HUGE difference, and I think you'd find making icons 100x easier!
Just saying! :D
I may attempt more tutorials if I get specific requests...until then, idk!
EXCUSE ME WHILE I FLAIL ABOUT. THIS IS AWESOME. Thank you so, so much for this. ♥
Lol, I love your ridiculous way of doing things (I'm the same way *high fives*)! Your crazy selective coloring layers were totally my favorite. And I adore the texture work that went into this; it's very cool.
AND THE REMOVING BACKGROUND STEP. AWESOME. And you included your rationalization too. Super cool. Hearing why you did something is always the most interesting part, I find. And just, yeah, all the little details (the coloring on Britta's face, etc) that went into it.
Hahaha I like knowing that I'm not the only one that has a ridiculous way of doing things! Definite *high five* back on that one! I totally didn't remember having such an insane selective color layer, and when I went back to look at the psd for this I had a nice little laugh at my own expense. I'm still not sure what I was thinking, but hey, it worked...so I guess it's all good!
I'm glad you appreciated hearing why I did certain things! I honestly can't stand reading tutorials that don't explain the reasoning behind the steps. At this point, I find I can usually figure out the reasoning for myself, but as a beginner I was like "WTF?" so yeah, reasons FTW!
I haven't been on LJ in a while so stumbled upon this, but very cool! I actually really like seeing the reasoning behind all this. You make me want to fire up PS again but I don't know what I'd make, lol! If you do make more tutorials I'd check them out. The reasoning and thought process behind the final piece makes it much more interesting.
