For a class in Japanese? Well, I don't know anything about that, but you always just look for online lessons...without paying, that is. :D That's how I'm learning. ♥
I am taking a national exam to.. well, it determines which Pre-University institute we go to.. I'll try to look for online lessons, but I lack self-discipline, so attending classes would be better for me xD
The colleges here offer Japanese as a third language.. However, I'm not good enough in my English and Mother Tongue to take another language DX I guess I'll have to start working on my self-discipline and get started! ^^ Thanks for the site!
The thought has crossed my mind so many times, especially when I can't find English subs. But once when I was really desperate, I actually searched for free online lessons and found this site: http://www.sf.airnet.ne.jp/ts/japanese/ lol ^^ Not sure if it's valid or will actually help though, but it kind of makes sense. Except for when the writer is using these big college-professor-level-English terms or when he's rambling about the phonetic sound of words. ^__^
I have to say, if there were Japanese classes within a 100 mile radius of my house, I'd join regardless of what my parents would say XD
I'll only take about 1 hour to travel to the nearest class available :D The hard part: Convincing my parents I wouldn't screw my national exams up... Learning online seems to be too hard >< But I'll try..
You should go for it. There are so many benefits. You can play imported games without having to use translation guides which is awesome because you don't have to wait for American or UK release dates. You'll be able to read raw manga and watch anime raw too.
Except for the fact that learning a language is really hard and time consuming, there's no reason not to.
I don't mind the time I would use to learn a language.. xD It'll take years, maybe, for me to get a good understanding of it, but if I get to read raw manga and watch anime raw, it'll be really worth it. I think I'll try to persuade my parents ^^

I study here and use it to teach younger kiddies. It's a shame you lack self-discipline! D: There's always college? (n__n)
