“You look like an angry dog.” Jiyong slowly looked up from his slumber, annoyed that someone had ruined his dream. Youngbae stood over him with two plates balanced on two mugs of coffee. He leaned over and placed a kiss on Jiyong’s cheeks. “Morning.”
“What time is it?” mumbled Jiyong, turning his face back onto the pillow.
“About 11 in the afternoon.”
“Aish…why didn’t you wake me up earlier?” Jiyong sat up in the bed and grabbed the plate of food in front of him. For the next few seconds, all that could be heard was the clatter of metal fork against a glass plate as Jiyong devoured everything in record time. “Seconds please.”
Taeyang smirked and handed him the other plate. “You should hurry and get ready. Did you forget we’re dog-sitting today for Hyori-noona?”
Jiyong paused midway through chewing. “That was today?”
“Yeah, and don’t talk with your mouth full.”
Jiyong grumbled and continue to wolf down the food. “Okay, I’ll be ready in a few.” He stood up and left the room. “And don’t ever call me a dog again.”
-----
“I’m so sick of this dog!” Jiyong screamed. It had refused to move from the spot ever since he took the leash.
Youngbae laughed. “I can see that.”
“And the rain doesn’t make it any better!”
“Yup. Except you’re not the one holding the umbrella.” Youngbae said, shaking the umbrella.
Jiyong grabbed at his hair. A small tiny, obviously pampered, dog sat in front of him. Hyori had left specific information on how the dog liked to be treated. In a way, the dog itself was like her.
“So we’re supposed to walk it now or something?” Jiyong asked.
“Yeah, for at least an hour or until it gets tired.”
“Well…we’ve already been watching it for a few hours now. And Hyori-noona is coming back soon,” Jiyong said, snuggling on Youngbae’s neck. “We could…you know…”
“We’re outside.”
“Perfect. We can watch you walk the dog back to our home.”
Youngbae groaned. “Tease.”
“Let’s go. The dog looks angry.”
Youngbae grabbed the leash and they began their walk back to the house. It had been a long day, and they were both eager to go home and relax. Which probably would have been nice, until the dog started running.
“What are you doing, you damn dog!” Youngbae muttered, as he chased after the dog, leash in hand. He had considered yanking at the leash, but Hyori said she would know if the dog had been yanked by the leash or not.
The dog ran across the street, ignoring all oncoming traffic, dragging Youngbae along and an ecstatic Jiyong. As the dog hopped across the puddle, Youngbae went flying with it…and ended up in a brown, muddy puddle. “…There goes my day.”
-----
As Youngbae and Jiyong returned to their home, they were greeted by Hyori at the door.
“Thanks for watching my dog, you two!” Hyori exclaimed, picking up her adored pet. She looked at Youngbae’s drenched and dirty clothes. “What happened to you? Your expression is like a dog that hasn’t been washed in weeks.”
“Your dog is the devil.”
Hyori giggled. “Sorry for whatever she did. Thanks for watching my dog.” She gave them both a kiss to the cheek. “I’ll see you guys around.”
And with that, she left.
Jiyong turned to Youngbae, and gave him a wicked smile, followed by a deep kiss. “Time to give the doggy a bath,” he said, with a wink.
