I wonder what would happen if there was a language without superlatives and dichotomy. If instead of being able to say object x has property y, one would have to also state to what extent x embodied y. Instead of 'the cup is red' it would be 'the cup is mostly red' or 'the cup is very red.' Instead of 'men are pigs' it would be 'men are somewhat

You need to remember that language wasn't made, it was evolved. So that would be like saying, what would humans be like without fingers or toes. It is a thing built into the language over time. One time it probably would have fucked up a guy pretty bad to think, "That lion might eat me, but it might not." Sometimes it is a good idea to assume things.
