[RL - Touch Virus Day 3] The Daughter of Corsica meets the Daughter of Hyrule {future-dated}

The moment that Mireille's eyes opened, she knew that something was wrong in her apartment. She had been living in the apartment since she was fifteen, and she knew every noise it made, could tell when a plant had changed leaning position or a book was on the wrong spot on the shelf. And when she awoke, she knew that something had changed. She ( Read more... )

Zelda knew the other woman was standing there before she opened her eyes. She assumed it was her training that made her so acutely aware, and such a light sleeper. Her guards had taught her to be alert, even while she dreamed. They had used to sneak into her room at night to test her, but that stopped after she had actually attacked one of them, and severely hurt him. It was no surprise to her that she was awake, and alert. However, the 'whys' to why this person was there had yet to be answered. As far as Zelda was concerned, she was back in her bed, though it didn't feel right. It wasn't hard enough to be hers. And, the way she was sleeping had made her back ache something fierce. Zelda heaved a silent sigh, and was on her feet in the time it took to blink. She had a long sword at her hip as usual, her own body taught with tension. She knew whatever it was that was aimed at her was just as deadly as her blade, if not worse ( ... )

Mireille was actually surprised at how quickly the woman sprang off the couch, and she took two silent steps backwards, raising the aim on her pistol up towards the others chest. The woman was taller than her, and from the looks of it knew how to use that sword at her side...but Mireille was the one with the gun, so...advantage her.

"You're in my apartment," she answered without thinking about it, and then made a soft, annoyed sound and narrowed her eyes. "Who are you? How did you get in here?" Her words came out mixed with her French accent, elongating the vowels, making the words seem less serious somehow then they were.

As they stood there though, she swayed slightly, a headache suddenly flooding into her mind, nothing too terrible but quite startling considering she'd been fine a moment earlier. She took another half-step backwards and brought her other hand up to assist her grip on the pistol and steady her hand.

"I do not wish to be in your apartment." Zelda stated wryly. It was the truth, despite her preference for the soft couch, she would rather be in Hyrule, where she was able to keep an eye on Ganondorf and his activities. Her stomach roiled and her head swam as the girl in front of her stepped away. Ugh. How unbelievably frustrating.

"Who are you?" zelda ventured, hand twitching unconciously for the blade at her hip; fingers twitching in a desperate attempt to not use her magic.

This was becoming a bit aggravating, it seemed. Mireille did not want to answer the other woman's question until her own was answered, and yet she had a feeling they were going to be trading it back and forth until one or the both of them keeled over.

"Mireille Bouquet," she finally answered, eyes narrowing further. "Now you answer me." The woman was a bit fuzzy in her view now, despite the fact that she was only a few feet away, and the french woman finally gave in and took two steps closer to ensure her aim...and some of the fuzz almost immediately disappeared, and the shaking in her hands faded a bit.

Oh no... The thought flashed through her brain, reminicent of yesterday and the things people were talking about on that blasted community...but she said nothing about her suspicions yet.

"I...like this game." She said slowly, and with a smile.

"Have you ever tried to look for him?" She asked softly, handing Mireille the cue stick back.

"It can be a lot of fun once you get used to it. And there can be strategy and stuff too, tricking your opponent into making mistakes, that sort of thing."

Mireille took the cue back...and promptly mixed her next shot, laughing softly as she handed it back. "No, not really. My uncle and I, mm...we work...different aspects of the same business. It's bad to move in the same circles."

"I can see where it would be." She had already been trying to come up with different strategies in her mind as they had been playing.

"I see. What exactly is it that you do, then?" She took it back with a smile, taking aim once more and promptly missing as Mireille had done.

"Well..." Mireille seemed uncertain what to say to that, the hand she had resting on Zelda's back shifting, fidgeting a bit, pulling at the fabric of zelda's shirt.

"I have a job that..." She let out a breath. "Most people would not understand what I do." She finally said, which provided absolutely no information. "Or approve of it."
