My powersupply went to hell. It blew up on me, sparked and flared and lit a flame (which was promptly blown out). Means I won't really be around too much, 'cept when I feel like sitting at my Uncle's Mac or fiddling with tihs laptop I've got. Hopefully I can ge a new powersupply soon, rig it up, and pray that nothing else got fried when it blew ( Read more... )

I hope they are able to get you back up and running again soon. Sucks your sound card decided to fry at the same time. /hugs

I don't think that it fried - I think that he might have knocked something loose when he was installing the new power supply. I know he went and connected some things to the motherboard like they're supposed to be, and I think that he might have done the same thing with my sound card, and now it's not quite registering. I told the guy today that it was working up until the other night when the supply fried, and when I came home I plugged it all back in and now all of a sudden it's not... If everything else is working, why would it fry only the sound card? I dunno. Maybe the general heat from the implosion fucked it up somehow, but I know that I -can- hear something, and the computer -is- registerig that it has it, but for some reason my headphones and speakers just don't want to pick up any sound ( ... )
