As I guess a given date has a one in seven chance of happening on a particular day of the week, it's probably been a multiple-of-seven years since I wrote this story in high school. Ah yes, were it not for leap years...
Instead, recent years when Feb. 13 fell on a Friday would have been in 2009, 2004, 1998... and then back to 1987. Leap years do really wonky things to an otherwise-regular calendar.

Ah yes, I did have something to say in response to this, but what would it have been? Of course, I wrote this story in none of those years. Maybe it was a case of "Valentine's Day, Feb 14th, falls on a Friday this year, but wouldn't it be funny if it had been somehow juxtaposed with the unluckiness of a Friday the 13th?" Looks like there were Fri, Feb 14ths in '92 and '97, and I'm pretty sure this story wasn't written in either of them. Oh well ( ... )
