at all. i'm not joking either. anyone who knows anything knows that that was nothing but a coaching error, not a fault of any player. it's unfortunate that we didn't win a game we should've won when our team has the talent but our offensive coaching staff doesn't. the defense has made its improvements (OU got what, a couple/few first downs and a field goal in the second half? yeah) you don't see me EVER make fun of UH athletics. EVER. in fact i even respect the UH football team. they're playing pretty well this year. so why the hell do you and lance insist on giving a&m so much flak? i really don't appreciate it, and if it's just to get a rise out of me or any other ags that read this, then congrats and i hope you can laugh about it.

First of all Matt, you are 100% correct in that what happened on the field was a mistake. What happened was a great example of having a lack of mental focus at a crucial point in a game. For that, players and coaches are at fault. However, luckily for yall, that penalty had nothing to do with the game's outcome. OU got the first down regardless and would have done what they did (kneel and kill clock) and still won by one point. Granted, this is a testament to how good your team is this year (8-2 is great considering your season last year and from what I've seen of yall this year, yall have one hell of a defense). So, to drive the point home, the penalty had nothing to do with yall losing ( ... )

i didn't intend for this to get ugly and i wasn't trying to "call you out." i just never understood your dislike for a&m because i honestly never thought you had any REALLY good reason to hate it. it's a little more clear now, and the more i think about it the more i understand how that could probably be pretty annoying having people pretend like they don't go to UH. i guess i just don't see how that would make you HATE a&m, just what it does to people at UH. it's unfortunate that people treat UH as just a temp school or a bridge to a "better school" or something, but that's just the way it is. it sucks but the thing is, the people who do that are the ones who're just mad that they couldn't go somewhere else. this you almost have to laugh at because at least YOU know that you're there with so much more purpose than those people and that you're gonna get a great education for what you want to do, and i respect that a lot ( ... )

I know it's kind of off-topic...
But.....
Wouldn't the A&M apparel be at the fault of the people wearing it, or am I just imagining it? It's not fair to "smack on A&M" just because UH students wear its colors or clothing. A&M's a great school, it has its pros, cons, etc. And so is UH.
I wouldn't hate a resident Aggie student for wearing UT apparel. Maybe UT doesn't provide the same programs as A&M, so they didn't have much choice otherwise.
I guarantee you that I'll be wearing A&M stuff at SFA next fall.(hopefully)

But honestly, what bothers you so much about friendly rivalry? A&M and UT have gone at it for years upon years. It's the same concept when you guys call Matt a dumbass, or Skatt a Manwhore.

Anywho.
I just thought I'd put my ten cents in.(Only pertaining to this, because I have no earthly knowledge of college football)

Since I "started" all this. First off, why did I add that to the end of my entry? Well college football is a big deal, OU/A&M was a big game, and the 12th man penalty was a big play. That alone warrants this getting a mention. And really, you have to appreciate the irony of the situation since A&M is so loud and proud about "the 12th Man." If that had happened at any other school it still would have been ridiculed, but considering the importance of a "12th Man" to A&M, commentary had to made. This ties into why A&M is subject of so much ridcule. If it did not have these rather ridiculous traditions and whatnot, there would be nothing to say about them. It just gives others material to poke fun at. You must understand this. This has nothing to do with who makes fun of what school. If there were such critcisms of UH demanding to be made, I would expect them to be, especially by this group. We're a sarcastic bunch and we roll with the punches (for the most part). I didn't say anything that hadn't already been said by the ( ... )

maybe i did get a little more pissed than i should've and i'm sorry, but in my defense you DID post this entry like the day after and i was still upset about the game. you're right about aggies being very defensive about their school, but aggies are very proud. at the same time, lance is extremely proud to go to UH. there's absolutely nothing wrong with this, and if anyone were to tell you you should be proud of the school you go to, it would be lance. on that note, saying that aggies take everything so seriously about their school would almost be a contradiction because a lot of people who are extremely proud of their school tend to get defensive about it if someone makes fun of it. lance is just as good of an example as i am. he gets mad if people make fun of UH for being a "bad/temp school" or something, and i don't blame him, i'd be upset too.

anyways i understand that this is a pointless argument and i'm over it now so we should just stop here. can't wait to see you (and david?) this weekend. drive safe.
