[Background] Ten years ago the Kirijo Group created Anti-Shadow weapons to gather Shadows used in time manipulation research. These weapons were humanoid robots, designed to have a semblance of human will to enable them to use Personas. Aigis was the last Anti-Shadow weapon that was still functional after an accident destroyed the research facility and created the Shadow-infested tower Tartarus. When she became involved in a fight with a powerful Shadow that was the embodiment of the Death arcanum, she realized she could not defeat it and used her remaining power to seal the Shadow's power inside the body of a young boy that was nearby.
Since then, Aigis had been deemed inoperable by Kirijo Group staff and was placed into storage on Yakushima Island. When the S.E.E.S. members visit the island while on vacation, she somehow reactivates and escapes the lab in an attempt to find the familiar presence that had reawakened her. She first appears to Minato, Junpei, and Akihiko during the "Operation Babe Hunt" event, wearing a one-piece sundress that hides her robotic body. Aigis recognizes Minato as someone she needs to be with, and upon leading him into the forest nearby confirms it with him in private. It is there that she swears to protect him no matter what.
Aigis joins S.E.E.S. as a valuble teammate, gaining praise from Shuji Ikutsuki albeit his insistence that her familiarity with Minato is a flaw in her memory. She begins attending Gekkoukan High School as a transfer student, using it as an opportunity to observe and learn human ways and eventually become closer to Minato.
After the last "Full Moon" Shadow is defeated, Aigis is taken by Ikutsuki to Tartarus while the other members of S.E.E.S. celebrate by having a party. Is is during this that it's revealed that defeating the last Shadow did not get rid of the Dark Hour. Instead the destruction of the twelve powerful Shadows brings about the revival of the 13th, Death, and The Fall (aka end of the world). Ikutsuki uses Aigis to capture the S.E.E.S. members and take them to Tartarus, imprisoning them on cross-like restraints on the roof of the school observatory. He then commands her to kill Takeharu Kirijo, Mitsuru's father, but is unable to do so as the pleas of her friends manage to snap her out of her new programming.
Soon after this, a new transfer student arrives at Gekkoukan-- Ryoji Mochizuki. Immediately Aigis is unsettled by this newcomer, warning Minato that he is dangerous and that he should stay away. She becomes obsessed with Ryoji as he becomes closer to Minato, sensing a hostile presence that is just as familar to her as Minato was. It turns out that Ryoji is the Shadow that she had sealed within the boy ten years prior and that his arrival heralds the beginning of the Fall. They repeat their battle and Aigis is severely damaged by Ryoji, who now remembers everything.
When she awakens, she reveals to Minato that he was the boy she had sealed Death into that day and begs him to kill Ryoji to stop the Fall from occuring. The members of S.E.E.S. assures her that everything will be alright and her Persona, Palladion, evolves into Athena, showing her strengthened resolve and greater understanding of human emotions. She joins S.E.E.S. once more as they climb to the top of Tartarus to face Ryoji once more, reborn as Nyx Avatar. Even though it seems like they had defeated Death, Nyx is unable to be killed and brings about the Fall anyways. Stuff happens and Minato flies into the moon that looks like a giant eyeball and fights death and defeats it, finally (with the power of friendship, literally).
After all of this occurs, the members of S.E.E.S. all forget the events that happened to them that past year and carry on as if nothing had happened. Aigis however remembers all of it and brings it up with Minato on Graduation Day. She joins him on the roof of the school that day, as that's where they had all promised to meet once they remember. Aigis vows to protect Minato for the rest of her life as he falls into a coma in her arms, from which he dies soon after.
[Personality] Aigis is, as expected, very robot-like when it comes to her personality. Cold, unfeeling, and generally emotionless all around, she eventually opens up to the members of S.E.E.S., eventually becoming more human-like to the point where she can feel extreme emotion and even shed tears. She harbors a desire to protect Minato and is incredibly loyal to him, a feeling which eventually turns into love that still carry on after his death.
Because she is a robot, she can be reprogrammed easily with little to no say in the matter, as evidenced when Ikutsuki was able to turn her against S.E.E.S. However, she can overturn this programming given the right prompting as her human nature is able to break through it.
Aigis has a limited view of the world and at times can be very ignorant of things that are considered common sense. This is offset by the fact she analyzes everything in a scientific matter and at times can "over think" things, as it were.
[Specialties/Abilities] Being a robot engineered to fight supernatural monsters, it's pretty obvious that Aigis is outside the norm when it comes to her fighting prowess. She fights primarily with guns, shooting the bullets from her fingertips, and can replace her hands with other weapons such as grenade launchers and shotguns. Aigis also has a fighting mode called "Orgia Mode" where she devotes all of her processing power to her physical attacks but causes her to overheat quickly, forcing her immobile and completely vulnerable.
Aigis also has the power to summon a Persona, an ability bestowed to her as she was specially manufactured to fight the Shadows that come from Tartarus. However, as this ability is only available to her during the Dark Hour she will be unable to use it in Somarium (unless we randomly get a Dark Hour event. which would be awesome, btw /hinthinthint).
She is also empathic when it comes to animals and can translate their thoughts to an extent.
[Affection] The only person that's on Aigis' mind is Minato. She is hardwired to be with him and there's nothing you can do about it. Try asking her out on a date and she'll shoot you down almost immediately (but not literally, hopefully). Either that or be very @___@??. Hey man, she's a robot, give her a break.
[Fighting] Aigis was made to be a weapon, ergo, she is very strong. That said, she can be taken out but it'll take a LOT of force to do so. In terms of who she'd fight, basically anyone that threatens Minato. :| She is a very single-minded robot.
[Other Facts] I haven't played FES's version of The Journey so anything extra that was in that game that had to do with her character development (ie, her Social Link) won't be a factor.
