Alexander had spent most of the morning on Bella’s home playing around by himself like he always did, like he was used to do,
but he didn’t mind the solitude as much as many could think.
He had never meet any kid his age who would like the same things he did, or even one who could at least understand the things he liked to talked about.
Like with space ships and aliens. Some of them didn’t even believe it was true there was a real alien ship crushed on the desert, when in fact it was there.
He only needed to walk a few block from his mother’s house to see it with his own eyes.
But the only things kids his age would talk and care about were sports
and the latest cartoon or comedy on tv.
They didn’t seam to care about anything else much either.
Parents, teachings, books, news, culture, behavior, personal appearance, hygiene … nothing ….
Nope, Alexander had simply decided it was much better to be perhaps alone, but doing the things he like to do,
than in company, but pretending to like things he didn’t.
Besides he had his father who was always teaching him new things,
his older sister who always listen to him patiently
and now his own mother as well, whowas full of fascinating stories to tell.
... and plus there were thousand of adventure waiting for him in each book around his house...
and for each one finished,
hours of enjoyment followed as he could easily hide in the bathroom and sped hours playing in tub
imagining to be the renegade pirate
who dared to crossed the seas single handedly on a small sailing boat;
or sneak into his father’s office on the third floor
and be a scientist on the edge of a medical breakthrough;
or walk out the living room’s door after dinner to the dark yard
to become an eccentric paranormal enthusiast visiting haunted places;
or pick up his flashlight at night
and wander around the house
as intrepid archeologist who studying old ruins
while searching for ancient treasures.
And now Bella’s extensive and lush backyard only gave him even more alternatives.
That morning, after playing and exploring his mother backyard for a coupled of hours,
and beign attcakd by killer bees,
he had ended up as a castaway who lived many years stranded on a desert island,
……until his sister had called him over to prepare for lunch.
Then he cleaned himself meticulously on the guest restroom,
where Bella always keep everything he needed
carefully and attentively as his father always told him to do,
though it wasn’t a routine Alex enjoyed too deeply.
Still the elder man constantly reminded him how important appearance is, because of how much it tells about each individual
and Alex alwasy respected and listened to the elderly parent who raised him.
Though certainly he would rather if the appliances would work like on the books he was read to at nights,
where instead of a stream of water
an invisible beam of light would destroy all germs and bacteria harmlessly to the skin.
It was practical and above all quick, after all, who would want to waste hours a day just standing by a sink...
Finally he had run back upstairs into his sister’s room,
and changed his cloths, mentally thanking her for insisting that he shouldn’t be running outside on his new outfit,
other wise he would need now to face his mother’s guests, wearing a sweater all covered in mud....
