Um, is there a reason Les Mis, New Girl and Dragon Age didn't get byes name as Elementary, Arrow, Teen Wolf, Hunger Games, Game of Thrones and the Silmarillon? All of them got at least as many write in votes on the original post as Elementary did in the official poll, so it seems odd that they'd need to get voted on a second time.

Also, like the above commenter, I noticed the absence of Welcome to Night Vale from the poll, along with Once Upon A Time, X-Files, Homestuck, Star Trek: Enterprise, Free!, Babylon 5 and Castle, though none of these are fandoms I even begin to qualify in. I admit that Thursday is a little late to say something about this, but, well, there you go.

Also, also: is there any chance we could get actual numbers rather than qualifying/not qualifying, if you update this, so those of us campaigning to get our fandoms in could have a better idea of just how effort we need to put into getting our fellow fandomers on board? Thanks.

Not that I really want to start going back and forth on every decision we make (not out of rudeness, just out of limited time!), but it wasn't clear from all the comments that the people who wanted to play either would be available, or, more importantly, actually qualified to offer their stories to be remixed. Willingness to play, on its own, isn't what we're after

I absolutely get that y'all have lives that are not running Remix - and that debating your potential participants on the subject of what fandoms should be included takes up time that would perhaps be better spent doing other Remix-related things, so I'm going to keep my reply both brief and general

Last time, I swear, but your assumptions about the ease of simply including fandoms isn't entirely accurate. The free polling sites we looked at don't allow unlimited responses or questions, so decisions had to be made somewhere about what we'd include, and a decent starting point seemed to be fandoms we had good reason to believe wouldn't fit remix's matching needs. I'm also just -- dude, we're doing this for fun; we're doing it without vic, who was by far the most experienced; and we're doing it, as you say, in a vastly different fandom landscape from past years, which is taking a fair bit of work to assimilate. Which isn't a way of saying we want to shut down suggestions for how to do things better -- I'd certainly be onboard with (and anticipating) a smoother operation next year! But since there's nothing we can do about vic or the landscape right now, let's at least try to keep the fun part.

We will be using the google mailing list, yes! I mean, I'm assuming. I don't think people realize just how against learning new social media spaces laurificus really is.

Spoiler: It is really kind of a lot. Nearly as much as my refusal to learn anything about Androids.
