Not at all. Didn't mean to give that impression. You just can't remix without also offering to be remixed. Offering to be remixed without remixing is fine.

You go to the page linked in the post, which has a link to sign up. You just use that form to link people to your stories, and indicate if you have a safe story.

Unfinished stories are still automatically ineligible, right? That part wasn't clear from the rules on AO3.

This is correct! No WIPs can be remixed.

You do have to claim a prompt in order to fulfill it. Multiple people can claim the same prompt, and the option to drop it is also there. And all claims/fills SHOULD be anonymous, at least until reveals happen. :)

One question regarding the AO3 rules/FAQ page for Madness:

I seem to recall from a prior Remix Madness round that -- like WIPs -- stories which are themselves remixes are not open for remixing. Is this correct? (It might be worth adding these two tidbits to the Rules/FAQ on the AO3 subcollection page.)
