Dear god this was fantastic! You took this story to exactly the next step with just the right questions to ask. I can't begin to describe how happy this makes me, because really -- god!

You did a good job of jumping into the middle of a complex situation and making it understandable to someone who had never read the original without retelling the original while at the same time doing a realistic and thoughtful look at what different timelines really mean to someone who can look at each choice and remake it. That's a lot to pack into 1500 words or so, and you did it very well. Great job!
