I stayed up 'til almost 3 a.m. here in Brazil, biting my nails... I simply could not go to bed before I knew for sure that Obama had won. I was terrified by the idea of Romney and everything that he represents being granted power. At the end, that 47% mattered... Congratulations America!

You don't even know how worried I was. Couldn't stand the idea that he would win. Of course, that doesn't (and won't) stop the Republicans from complaining :/

Whew I know seriously right. I do live in America and I'm so incrediably relieved you can't imagine.I'm so so glad that white multimillionare bigotted elitism didn't win. Romney wouldn't have only been bad for gay rights but devistating for women as well.

This Obama victory is significantly more important than first win; it defeats so much and advocates so much more.

Lots of good things coming from last night's results. Go USA - forward not back! Yay!

Enforced bed rest following an operation to my knee and wide awake from affects of anaesthetic and painkillers [bizarrely] meant I was up well into the small hours watching every step on Twitter. Could only sleep when they called it. We have many friends and some family in US - a Romney win would have been devastating for so many both there and around the world. America has shown it's true worth and should be very proud today.

Yeah, I'm pretty relieved. I did my party by voting for marriage equality in my great state of Maryland!
