Writer's Block: RIP Michael Jackson

Jun 26, 2009 10:32

I actually wrote this yesterday right after the news came out, but LiveJournal was all wonky, so here it is now.

With Michael Jackson's just-reported death fresh in my mind, I thought I'd share some MJ-oriented memories.

He scared me in his Thriller days... )

LJ messed up on me too. :/

Ah, MJ, he will be missed. Sure, his bad rap after turning white and children incidents were mildly alarming, but his music certainly held my attention. So catchy, and his dance moves were entertaining! :D

I think it's really sad he was going to have comeback concerts (everyone was getting hyped he was BACK) and now this? :C

He was a legend in my eyes, and all the songs you listed are reason enough. D'aawww, 'ABC' is adorable. ^__^

When I saw the old footage of him when he was a kid, it makes you realize how much of his life was spent in the public eye. Now, I'm not blaming society for his problems, but I'm sure that his constant presence in front of cameras didn't help, either...

I was freaked out for a period in my childhood from the Thriller video too! ^^

RIP, Michael Jackson. You're missed sorely already.

Even though "Thriller" freaked me out (I'm fairly sure it was because of the zombies...), I have to admit, I was always fascinated with the choreographed zombie dance. I've secretly wanted to try it for years, but have no rhythm.

He will be missed.
