Well, it's from CNN, so it must be true. I think I need to go retch for an hour. We're now at the point where the Supreme Court can and will legislate from the bench. I'll send a moving van across the country, I say we pack up and move to Canada before it's too late.
I don't think that would help -- the eminent domain laws in Canada are probably even worse. But this is a very, very dangerous precedent. We can only hope a future court revisits this issue and fixes this.
Kinda makes me want to never own a home. How dare they take my property! The case in this artical indicates it is not a blighted area...WTF. And just cause my home is not worth as much as a swanky hotel doesn't mean you can take it away from me. This just made me so damn mad to read.
The example I cite in my entry isn't even close to a joke. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the County starts setting wheels in motion almost immediately.
Extremely disappointing, and a surprise to me that the moderate-to-liberal side of the court took this point of view (to me, at least). I can only hope that legislatures are spurred to action to ensure this doesn't become standard practice.

I only wish I were joking.
