The first thing to be understood is what ego is. A child is born. A child is born without any knowledge, any consciousness of his own self. And when a child is born the first thing he becomes aware of is not ( Read more... )

Okay - I started reading that and then realized it was about 10 KILOMETRES LONG. So I stopped. But I did pick up one thing that niggled me. It says a baby is born without knowledge or consciousness of it's own self, but that's not true. The first thing it thinks when it is born is "I'm hungry, I'm cold, this world is too bright, WAAAAAAAAAAAH" which is all to do with itself.

it's just good practice for reading books for school, or for .. um, speedy enjoyment (as opposed to leisurely enjoying said book).

Basically, scan. *nods* Scanning is good, once you're skilled at it.. :D

That's true, but usually on lj I just like it to be leisurely enjoyment. It's my de-stressing thing. Not supposed to be like school reading! ;_; I did scan it a bit though. I skipped to the end and read a bit there and got at least the conclusion but I missed all the points in-between.

Was I the only one who mostly-read the whole thing? Because, huh, wow. It is interesting, edging on fascinating, in a "Well, I can see some things I disagree with, but this is a hell of a lot of thinking" way.
Although, it is over 9km long.. Cen's estimate of 10k is possibly a bit of an exaggeration, y'think?

I learned a new awesome Latin word yesterday: "quamquam". It means "although" or "however".... quamquam! :D
it is accompanied by quemquam and quamque and ... well, too many q words to ever remember. But just try saying that. QUAMQUAM.

*giggles*
