Plug it into the dock for about two hours, then reboot your computer and see if iTunes recognizes it.
Also, if nothing appears on the screen when you first dock it, your firmware's probably gone south. If iTunes doesn't see it, you can't update or repair it either... you might have to send your brick back to Apple.
