I think you will love Happy-Go-Lucky, it's a great film! Vicky Cristina Barcelona is a bit strange, I'm not quite sure what to make of it. It's not a bad film, though. I'll tell you more once you've seen it, I don't want to spoil it for you :)
In the past I was a great fan of Woody Allen, but, quite frankly, lost interest after his somewhat creepy escapades. I know I shouldn't let private lives of celebs influence me, but I cannot help it in this case. Anyway, I'll let you know what I think, Amélie. :)
I agree about Confessions of a Shopaholic. It is an okay film if you don't want to engage your brain, but there were some pretty major flaws. Poor Hugh Dancy. I also have issues with the novel series though, simply because the main character is a girl who never seems to learn anything from her mistakes, and thinks burying her head in the sand will work. It is frustrating!
So, the heroine, although she cares more about her appearance, has a touch of Brigid Jones who didn't seem to learn from her mistakes as well? At least, that's what I understood from the sequel of The Edge of Reason. A reason for me not to follow it. ;)
