Still no power

So, there is still no power at my home. Unitil claims that all "major circuits" will be back up by the end of tonight. I'll believe it when I see it. I also have no idea if my street counts as a "major circuit" or not. I've been on an air mattress at my mother's since Sunday night, I'm hoping to escape north for solstice. At this point, storm

You know, I've gone WEEKS at a time without electricity. It really sucked, but nothing like what you are going through. At least in the aftermath of a hurricane, we were not freezing to death on top of being powerless.

Also this is going to sound like a silly suggestion, but...the one winter in Florida that it was actually cold enough to be really uncomfortable, all of the space heaters from everywhere were sold out, because everyone else was cold too. We bought ten of those jar candles, and we lighted them all at once. Of course we hung out in one room, but as strange as this sounds, those measly candle flames did in fact heat that room. It's worth a try for a break from your mother anyway.
