Now I'm wishing I had studied zoology. Wait, what? I find myself becoming a bit of an animal activist. Or more specifically, a wolf activist. I'm devouring everything I can about them. Misunderstood, hated, endangered, beautiful, necessary. I actually donated money to Defenders of Wildlife to broadcast a commercial about Governor of Alaska ( Read more... )

Yes, Britney, they came to my attention via Jacob. But who cares what was the catalyst? Everyone's interest in anything has to spark from somewhere.

Dude, I'm not hatin'. Anime was the thing that got me interested in Japanese, after all. And wolves are love. I remember seeing a really awesome pack when I was in Yellowstone. The guys were everywhere, and fiercely protected.

Too bad Japan hunted the species to extinction, though. :/

I know, I know. I can just hear you saying 'mm-hm, mm-hm' as if you know the real reason why I like them. And it was the reason I looked them up. Just now it's not the only reason.

How cool that you actually saw a pack! I've read that it's extremely difficult (except sometimes within controlled environments) to see even a wolf anywhere, since they are so afraid of humans now.

Bad Japan!

Totally digging your icon. XD

*GRRR*

Just looked up info on wolves in Japan and, as you may already know, the Japanese outlook on wolves was fine until that magic year, 1868. Thanks, westerners, for bringing your crazy wolf anxieties to Japan and wiping out their entire wolf population in just 30 years. Nice.
