Feb 26, 2010 04:32

Previously in this LJ, I made a list of all of the dramas I had seen in the hopes that someone would take a look at it and give me some good drama recommendations.  It worked!  But though I have updated the list several times, I don't like how it's set up - it's very NEWS-member-centric.  Making a new list, and for now, I'm just going to ( Read more... )

japanese ladeez, fear the jimusho, japanese dramas count as homework, another reason not to leave my computer, more hours than i can count, happiness is beautiful boys, johnny is voldemort, why aren't i sleeping?

I'll definitely recommend UNFAIR. After so many years its my favourite J-drama of all time (I'm a sucker for suspense/crime/thriller dramas) and is so underrated.

Stars the gorgeous Ryoko Shinohara and Eita btw. ;)

BOSS is another one I think you'll love (no one who's watched it has disliked it, from what I know XD). And don't bother reading the synopsis from Wiki etc, it... totally veers off course lol. It has a stellar cast of Yuki Amane, Toda Erika, Tetsuji Tamayama, Takenouchi Yutaka, Mizobata Junpei, Kichise Michiko amongst others. ♥

Orthros no Inu - what will happen when if with one touch an illness could easily be eased or with one touch one dies? The story revolves in this mythical belief. Suspense, drama, thriller. Something like Tantei Gakuen Q perhaps? Starring Takizawa Hideaki and Nishikido Ryo

Ninkyo Helper - the story revolves around yakuza members who are under training, in order to know who will be the next leader of their clan, in a very unexpected way. I really love this drama aside from the actors/actresses in it. Drama with subtle hints of comedy. Watched it during it airing time and kept on waiting for the next episode! Something like Gokusen crossed with My Boss My Hero in a very different setting and toned downed comedy. Starring Kusanagi Tsuyoshi and Kuroki Meisa

Samurai High School - the story revolves around a high school student who is possessed by a ancient samurai. Funny, slight suspense and has a nice plot. Something like the funny antics of Gokusen. Starring Miura Haruma

Oh, I had forgotten about Mei-chan no Shitsuji! I saw the first episode, then had gotten involved in other things, and I guess it slipped through the cracks. I will have to start that one up again. Because who wouldn't love to have Mizushima Hiro as her maid? My goodness.

Thanks so much for all your recommendations and details!

I was thinking of watching Orthos no Inu (because Ryo is in it) but I never really bothered to find out the plot, so I kind of forgot about it. Sounds good tho.

Someone else had recommended Ninkyo Helper to me, so since you put in your vote, I might go ahead and check it out. I like Kuroki Meisa, too. Samurai High School sounds cute! And you just can't go wrong with Miura Haruma. ^^

Have you seen Kizarazu Cats Eye, Tiger and Dragon or Ikebukuro West Gate Park? All written by the same guy and all awesome! Not very actress centred though.

I just finished watching a drama - can't remember the name but it starred Maki-chan and she has to be mother to 6 guys. One of them is the hayashi rice guy from Ryuusei no Kizuna - it's hilarious.

I've just now started watching KCE, finally! Have not seen Tiger and Dragon. Okada and Nagase? Can't go wrong there~ and I feel like I've heard of that Maki drama before. I'll have to look into that - thanks!
