There's a rumour that some cable network might pick up Invasion. Fingers crossed. Poor Sean is just too damn good for TV

Yeah, I've heard the rumours, but they're pretty unsubstantiated. I guess I'm afraid to get my hopes up.

You've nailed specifically why I tried my damnedest not to find new shows anymore.

Currently I'm watching exactly three shows regularly. All of them are doing well and none are in their first season. There was one new show I latched onto but it's looking like it was cancelled so it's three for me.

Television has become so bloody cut-throat nowadays it really barely pays to invest yourself in a decent show until the networks have decided to invest more than a half season themselves. It's a shame they still haven't learned from shows like Firefly to be just a *little* more patient.

For the networks, it's all short-term profit, short-term rewards...and extreme short-sightedness.

So I'm done trying out new shows. I'll watch something after it's been around at least 2 or 3 seasons; but I'm through getting involved with a program only to have it yanked out from under me.

The other 6 shows I watch, apart from Invasion (24, CSI Miami, Bones, Lost, CSI, Without a Trace), are all doing well and coming back next year, and those will be the only ones I stick with.
