Ramblings

Running about two weeks behind here, as usual...though I did manage to catch up to March 3rd tonight, LOL. I'm constantly making promises to myself that if I just read 2 or 3 days of posts each night, I can be caught up in no time...so I take an evening (like tonight) and spend a few hours and make some real progress, so the next night I think, ( Read more... )

I think it's a bad idea to see "keeping up with LJ" as a duty - never possible to do it all the time, though fun when one can. And seeing an entry from you is always a pleasure. Sometimes what I do when I fall behind is skip my flist entirely, but go to my list of friends and pick out favourites one by one, seeing what they've posted when I was inattentive.

Anyway, people are pretty understanding about this because (a) they're friends and (b) they're in the same boat, generally.

Who inspects the warehouse? For what?

Good luck with the vacation idea.

I've also started the spring cleaning at home.

Already? I wouldn't call it spring yet. I guess that's no excuse.

What is your interest in Zodiac? I barely know it exists - is there someone good in it? I certainly liked 300. Which has so many Lord of the Rings visual/conceptual references it's downright funny.

I've only read one of the Torchwood novels so far, Another Life, and I thought it was amazingly good. Much better than the Doctor Who novels I recently read. Which is ( ... )

I guess I do think of it as a chore - something I *have* to do rather than want to do. The truth is, I've never really warmed up to LiveJournal. I greatly prefer the mailing list groups on yahoo, and find it much easier to maintain discussions on them. I joined LJ because I felt I had to if I wanted to keep any kind of meaningful connection with fandom, or with my friends and their lives ( ... )

I have always been happier on the mailing lists too, but I'm finding less convesation there than I used to, though it still seems to work well for the Dunnett lists.

Good luck with the Fire Department!

Ah - I'd forgotten, if I ever knew, that Jake Gyllenhall is in it. Okay, that makes it a must-see.

He's currently one of my three favorite men and I'll see just about anything with him in it.

Understandably. I adore him too. So does John Barrowman. Sowhat are your other two current favourites?

$2 for "Shark Attack"? I'm not sure it isn't overpriced.... Heh. No, it's worth it for the bit of tongue in the shower scene, which some spoilsport removed from YouTube. Prudes.

I like Jack/RealJack too, though there don't seem to be a lot of stories about them. Not yet, anyway.

John Barrowman and James Marsden. It's the John, James and Jake Show!

It would be overpriced at 50 *cents*, LOL. But yeah, the shower scene is worth seeing. Wet!John, yum.

Not many, no, but I have found some good ones. And I *know* Jack/Ianto is canon, and I certainly don't object to it (hope to see more of it in Season 2, actually) - I just don't find it very interesting to read about. Part of the problem is that too many of the fic writers try to make it into a "Great Romance" and I just don't see it that way.
