None of this is very reasonable, but I suppose no answer to this question really would be.

I am jealous of how much Tatsumi cares for Tsuzuki, of how much of Tatsumi's afterlife Tsuzuki has had. I'm jealous of the way Tatsumi still can't let him go- even when I know I can't expect him to.

Thinking about something Tatsumi said, there is actually a situation in which I could see the end of the world being a predictable phenomenon-- once everyone on Earth had died, there would be a while when we'd be clearing things up and chasing down the last few, but after that there'd be no need for Meifu either.
