and it's still blue!

You know, I really enjoy getting my hair cut. Especially here, because the nice gal at Ultracuts doesn't look at me like I'm crazy when I say "buzz the sides and the back, leave it a bit longer and fauxhawky on top", and then she does exactly what I askedI tend to have that problem when I go somewhere "professional". Actually, I don't think I've ( Read more... )

Ohhh. If you could passing along whatever it was that you did for the lamb meatball mango curry, I would be forever in your debt. That sounds unbelievable.

I don't have the recipe for the lamb meatballs to hand, but I can ask my mom for it later - we made them when I was home for Christmas.

Otherwise, it was the lamb meatballs fried up with some sliced canned mangoes, and a jar of VH Mango Curry sauce on top, on top of sticky rice. It was soooo gooood.

And I have the urge to punch DiZ, which I'm still horribly disappointed you don't get to do in-game.

Yes! Punch Mr. Kill-'Em-All-And-Let-Mickey-Mouse-Sort-It-Out! Having Christopher Lee's voice is no excuse!

The entire thing's his fault! And then you don't even get to kick his ass!

Also, man is he ever a dick to the Nobodies. Who I realize are technically the bad guys. But still.

See, I'm still going with...

DiZ: Nobodies cannot feel emotions, because they do not truly exist.
NOBODIES, ALL THE WAY FROM CHAIN OF MEMORIES THROUGH KH2: *sure do look, act, and react like they're feeling emotions*
DiZ: Seriously. No emotions.
PATRICK: *noting down* Un-re-li-a-ble narr-a-tor.

My theory is that DiZ was actually some sort of screwy Nobody like Namine was. Or a Heartless like the other-other Ansem. Because he obviously survived the collapse of Hollow Bastion Radiant Garden somehow, but at some point decided that fetish gear and robes were an appropriate fashion statement and started kidnapping teenagers.

Have you read all the Circle of Magic books by Pierce?

*raises hand* I have! They're my favorite!

... Actually, to a rather scary degree. I have customized an American Girl doll to be Tris, and another brand doll to be Daja ... Who, me, weird?

In the last stand alone one, Daja does a Willow and goes all sapphtastic. How awesome is that!

Nice music choice there. *has just plowed headfirst through that series*

It does seem that the less fancy places aren't so worried about how you'll look when you buzz--which bums me out, because if you find someone who is skilled and willing to do a short-short do, you can get some really good-looking hair. And I don't even dye it weird colors, and still get disapproval, what with the living in Utah and all.

: P Keladry's still my favourite, but Daine has a special place in my heart.

I hear you on the Utah thing, though. Alberta and Saskatchewan aren't much better, we just tend to have more rednecks and fewer Mormons.

Fun random insight inside my head: I cast Daine as a young Jewel Staite. When she had to put on a frilly pink layer cake of a dress in the second book, I actually informed the book, "I told you so!"

I'm still firmly planted in Emelan!verse, but bear in mind I haven't read Keladry's series yet.
