Only Trekkies will really appreciate (and possibly understand, as there is lots of floppy Trek logic) the Star Trek dream I had last night.
So last night Dream Me was watching what she thought was an episode of Star Trek Next Gen only to be super confused when Seven of Nine showed up (from Voyager). Dream me was all "I don't remember this one - she's not even supposed to be free of the Borg Collective yet as far as this series is concerned! Maybe not even in it (she was assimilated as a child from what I recall and I think Next Gen takes place at least a decade before Voyager does, maybe more).
Then my brain was all "oh! Wait! Maybe it's time travel or something - like her cerebral implant lets her brain travel to the past, because this is Star Trek and it wouldn't be the first time time travel was involved" and I kept going in that tangent because the whole episode revolved around this code that did... Something. Like... The Voyager Crew needed the base code for some sort of Star Fleet tech because it was about to explode or some such, but the only way to get it was to go back in time when it was first created. Like Scotty basically inventing transparent aluminum in whatever Star Trek IV: They Voyage Home because the chemical equation that is standard grade school education to him is Inconceivable And Impossible to 80s Los Angeles or wherever, so he jots down the equations in front of the scientist dude that eventually "invents" the stuff.
Anyway, around that point I woke up, so alas, I never did find out why Seven was in Next Gen. I stand by my time travel logic though. -nods decisively-
Also, I think my subconscious may be trying to tell me something. To the Netflix!
In unrelated news, -waves- Hello my dears. Still alive and hope you all are as well. :)
