They didn't give her a 'hefty paycheck'. That's laughable. There is no way that anyone involved in Rent thinks that she is in any way essential. She is one of the most disliked castmembers ever with her fellow actors. She drives the SM and MD crazy and gets notes nightly which she always ignores. They were desperate and had no choice but to ask her to come back because the next Mimi is not yet available. It's not like Antonique is in such demand for other jobs that she didn't jump at the chance to come back. Think about it, has she had other acting jobs? Oh, and that cd/record contract blah blah blah, have you actually SEEN a cd yet? Not.
